Akridge to Take Over D.C. Property Management for American Bar Association
The American Bar Association (ABA) has selected Akridge to provide property management services for its historic building at 740 Fifteenth Street, NW, in Washington’s Central Business District. The ABA is headquartered in Chicago. The 155,000 square foot D.C. landmark, built as the Union Trust Building in 1907 and listed on the National Register for Historic Places since 1984, houses more than 400 workers, including ABA staff and building clients. Akridge assumes management responsibilities on June 1.
ABA began the search for a new property manager in September of 2009, and notified Akridge of their selection in early February. Several rounds of interviews and tours of Akridge-managed buildings contributed to the selection process. This assignment brings the size of Akridge’s property management portfolio to more than 6.6 million square feet.
“We are honored by ABA’s selection of Akridge to serve this distinguished building and group of clients,” said Akridge Senior Vice President, Kathryn L. Barnes. “The Akridge team is eager to bring our signature A+ service to the bar association.”
