This solution transforms the way businesses power and control lighting to reduce energy costs and improve building performance. The platform, which can operate with both groundbreaking LED technology and traditional fluorescent and halogen technology, can save up to 75 percent of energy used to light a typical building.

The company’s founders, who commercialized networking technologies for Cisco Systems, leveraged their knowledge of computer networking to develop this network-based energy efficiency solution. Created by a team from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, this kitchen system uses technology to ease the harder physical work out of the cooking process. The kitchen system was designed using the latest technology, it features a a LCD screen providing a useful spot to jot down notes while cooking, there is a solar steamer which can be removed to outside to be powered by the sun to dry spices and a steel pounder arm to grind spices without tiring.

There is also a spice storage bins equipped with sniffers. If a spice is losing its potency, the sniffer alerts the user by using different colors.

Architect Daniel Libeskind’s Grand Canal Theatre, part of the larger development by Chartered Land, is a dramatic addition to Dublin’s docklands created by a world-class team of designers. The 2100 seat venue, managed by Live Nation Ireland, will open its doors for the first time to the public on Thursday, March 18th, 2010.

Grand Canal Theatre is a landmark that creates a focus for its urban context, specifically Grand Canal Square, the new urban piazza at the waterfront of Grand Canal Harbour. The Theatre becomes the main façade of a large public piazza, designed by Martha Schwartz Partners, framed by a five star hotel and residences on one side and an office building on the other.
